I was looking for exercise I could do regularly and ideally in a one-on-one situation.
I really felt I would work best with a personal trainer to push me and loved the idea of working outside – whatever the weather. I saw the photos on the website and they really appealed. It seemed so much more interesting and varied than normal gym work.
Ana was brilliant from the start. She came to meet me before I signed up to chat through what I wanted to get out of it. She listened to what I had done before, what I was aiming for and the reasons behind wanting to sign up. Since then I’ve had two sessions pretty much every week at a time and place that suits me. Ana also took me out on a running session so I could start doing that on my own. She’s also offered invaluable advice on diet and other exercises I can do at home.
Amazons Bootcamp really has changed the way I feel about myself. As well as losing weight and toning up, I have more energy and enthusiasm to do other things. My family and friends have noticed I am more positive about things and seem much more comfortable with myself. At the start I was training for a cycling trip to Cuba. I haven’t cycled for years and was quite apprehensive about it but Ana trained me so well, I found the whole experience totally enjoyable and actually not that difficult! I got so much more out of the trip because of that. I am not training for anything in particular now but really look forward to my sessions as I know how good I will feel afterwards.
I would absolutely recommend it to anyone – and have done. If you are serious about wanting to feel better in all aspects of your life, this is for you. You do have to work hard, and there are challenges. But that’s why it’s so invigorating and you feel a real sense of achievement. It’s also fun (well press ups aside!). We really laugh about things and that makes it even more enjoyable.
For me, it’s how it has brought me back to being the person I was when I was younger. More energy, more enthusiasm, a greater belief in myself, confident and comfortable. Losing weight along the way was a bonus!
